Roses > Hybrid Tea > Auguste Renoir

Part of Meilland's Romantica series. Purchased from Wayside Gardens. One of my first roses and one of my favorites. This rose has many qualities to recommend it. It is very robust and vigorous and can reach up to 8 feet in height. It is more resistant to black spot than the average hybrid tea. I've been growing it for 10+ years and it hasn't slowed down. It has excellent rebloom. The flower itself has more petals than you can count and rival florist roses in size and shape. Only fault is that the blooms spoil easily in wet weather, which usually coincides with the first Spring flush. You can always cut the flowers to enjoy inside, however. This is one of the roses that grew very well during a two year period of neglect between 2007-2009.
